Job Description
I am seeking a new editor to join the Writing Brave team!
This work will include working 1:1 with some of my clients. Monthly work includes, for 3-6 clients:
Reading submissions (of up to 5,000 words)
Writing an editorial letter with your feedback
Meeting with the client for a 45-minute 1:1 session
Qualifications
Must have either formal experience editing books or an MFA degree in creative writing.
Must be skilled in providing both written and verbal feedback on writing submissions.
Must be comfortable providing feedback for novels, memoirs, and personal development books.
Must be comfortable meeting with clients on video.
My work at Writing Brave is rooted in both trauma awareness and antiracism. Must have at least a working knowledge / familiarity of both to be a good fit for my company.
Availability
Must have some weekday daytime availability to schedule 1:1 meetings with clients. You will have control over when and how to schedule, but these would take place in the second half of each month.
Must be available for this work January through June 2024.
Compensation
This work is paid per deliverable - not by the hour. The deliverable is the full spectrum of one client’s work in one given month: i.e., reading the submission, writing the editorial letter, and meeting with the client, together count as one deliverable.
Compensation is $200/ deliverable, to be paid monthly. You will work with between 3 - 6 clients per month for six months.
