⛱️ jersey shore bound
As you read this, I’m packing up our car to hit the road for the holiday weekend.
We’re heading to the same small Jersey shore town I grew up going to every summer – the same one both my parents grew up going to every summer.
The place is steeped in memories.
It’s also steeped in Adamses, something I forgot because I hadn’t been there much since I got married 15 years ago.
Last summer my husband and kids and I road-tripped down the Garden State Parkway to spend Memorial Day weekend with my dad at said shore point.
The first day, my cousin Sean texted me randomly: are you at the 26th Street beach?
We were.
The next day we ran into two of my other cousins.
The day after that my sister and I saw my uncle Jack riding his bike on the boardwalk.
You get the idea.
This year we’re spending the whole upcoming week there.
Regardless of the weather (cross your fingers for SUN and BLUE SKIES), memories will be made.
Riding our bikes to get donuts. Walking on the beach. Playing in the ocean regardless of the weather because my kids will not be denied.
