my summer writing goals {gulp}
The fact that my company is called Writing Brave means… I have to do things that are brave.
GULP.
A coach I once knew (Kara Lowentheil) calls this Barf Club. She says, if you don’t want to puke on a weekly basis as an entrepreneur, you probably aren’t playing big enough.
Here are a few things I’ve done recently that made me want to puke:
Made a few legal changes to my business that I did NOT feel like doing at all 🤮
Cold-emailed a writer I really admire 🤮
Pitched the agent of a pro athlete an interview request 🤮
So, here goes… my summer writing goals… (drumroll please)...
I’m finishing my current book this summer.
And then I’m querying agents.
Doesn’t sound that exciting when I type it out.
But I still want to puke. Lol!
I haven’t queried in a long time. (Since 2018, when I got rejected by 125 agents!)
A project like this reminds me of what I want, and that I can’t control the outcome here.
I can do my best.
But I can’t make an agent say yes.
I can’t make a publisher offer me a deal.
If you want to get clear on what you want to create this summer with your writing, come join me for the free Summer of Writing virtual party.
We’re going to:
🌴Imagine beautiful moments you want to experience this summer
🌴Access the spirit of your book
🌴Explore whether this year’s Summer of Writing is the right fit for you
Just a note that this year’s Summer of Writing is a completely different offer than last year, and the basic tier starts at half the price as last year’s (with two payments of $47).
But I’ll tell you ALL about it at the party!
See you there.
There will be a replay.
