it’s my birthday weekend!

bring on the gluten-free cupcakes

I turned 40 on Sunday. EEEE!

I’m excited. Getting older feels like a privilege.

I’m also 100% throwing myself a party. Bring on the gluten-free cupcakes!

In the past, I’ve used my birthday weekend post to share how grateful I am for the Writing Brave community.

Which I am.

Other entrepreneurs often run sales on their birthdays.

This year I’m doing something different.

I’m raising money for my local food pantry, Feeding Westchester.

Federal aid is down. Donations are down. Hunger is up, in tons of communities, including mine.

My neighbors (and probably yours) are skipping meals.

Kids will be hungry this summer without access to school breakfast and lunch.

For every dollar donated, Feeding Westchester can provide TWO meals.

I am asking– if you have EVER found my work helpful–

Ever been inspired by a newsletter,

Ever learned something at a Writing Brave Summit,

Ever taken action on your writing because of a workshop, event, or challenge I’ve run–

Will you give just $5 to provide ten meals to people who are hungry?

By the way, I’m not asking for $5 and secretly hoping you’ll donate $20 or $50.

I’m actually asking if you’ll donate just $5. About the cost of a Starbucks latte, if you live in New York.

You can donate here.

I appreciate you so deeply.
